This 10″ × 4.5″ Big Blue cartridge uses a dense activated coconut-shell carbon block to provide premium chlorine-related taste and odor polishing in compatible whole-house filtration systems.
The extruded carbon-block structure helps water pass evenly through the media and limits channeling around the carbon bed.
Helps reduce chlorine, unpleasant taste, unpleasant odor and many common organic compounds when used within compatible operating conditions.
Install after a sediment cartridge. In a three-stage system, it is commonly used as the final carbon-polishing stage.
Coconut-shell activated carbon
Premium carbon media selected for chlorine-related taste, odor and organic-compound adsorption.
Extruded carbon block
Solid construction helps provide consistent contact and reduce water channeling.
Big Blue capacity
The 10″ × 4.5″ format provides substantially more media than a standard slim cartridge.
10-micron nominal rating
Combines carbon adsorption with limited fine-particle polishing.
Whole-house compatible
Fits compatible systems using standard 10″ × 4.5″ Big Blue housings.
Drop-in replacement
Installs directly inside a compatible Big Blue housing.
Actual performance depends on source-water chemistry, chlorine level, pressure, flow rate, contact time and remaining cartridge capacity.
Reduction performance varies with source-water quality, flow rate, contact time and cartridge life.
Chloramine generally requires catalytic carbon. Hardness usually requires a water softener, and microbiological concerns require appropriate disinfection.
