This 10″ × 4.5″ Big Blue cartridge is designed for compatible whole-house filtration systems. Its solid carbon-block structure helps reduce chlorine-related taste and odor while providing more consistent flow through the media than loose granular carbon.

Installation and maintenance

✓Shut off the water supply and relieve housing pressure before opening
✓Install only in a compatible 10″ × 4.5″ Big Blue housing
✓Install a sediment cartridge upstream to help extend carbon-block life
✓Inspect and clean the housing sump and O-ring during replacement
✓Pressurize slowly and inspect the housing for leaks
✓Flush to drain until carbon fines are cleared before normal use

Confirm Big Blue size
This cartridge fits 10″ × 4.5″ Big Blue housings and does not fit standard 10″ × 2.5″ slim housings.

Use sediment filtration first
Installing sediment filtration upstream can help reduce premature clogging and extend carbon-block life.

Carbon blocks create more restriction than GAC
Actual household flow depends on incoming pressure, plumbing, cartridge condition and the complete system configuration.

Check whether your city uses chloramine
This standard CTO carbon block is intended primarily for chlorine. Chloramine generally requires catalytic carbon.

Service life varies
High chlorine levels, heavy use, high flow or poor sediment prefiltration may shorten cartridge life.

Flush before normal use
Initial dark water may be caused by harmless carbon fines. Flush to drain until the water runs clear.

This product includes one replacement cartridge only. Filter housing, wrench, mounting bracket, plumbing fittings and additional filters are not included. It does not significantly reduce TDS and is not intended to make microbiologically unsafe or unknown-quality water safe to drink.
