Description

Whole-house filter isolation valve

Full-port PVC ball valve with 3/4″ female NPT connections

This ProLine quarter-turn ball valve provides fast on/off flow control for compatible 3/4″ threaded cold-water lines. Install one before and one after a whole-house filter system to isolate the equipment during cartridge changes, inspection or repair without shutting off water to the entire property.

What it does

Lets you isolate filtration equipment with a single handle turn

With the handle aligned with the pipe, the valve is open. Turn the handle 90 degrees across the pipe to close the line. The full-port ball design maintains a large internal flow path when open, helping reduce unnecessary restriction in compatible residential water systems.

Open position

Handle in Line with the Pipe

Water flows through the valve when the red handle is parallel to the pipe and valve body.

Closed position

Handle Across the Pipe

The valve is closed when the handle is turned 90 degrees and positioned perpendicular to the pipe.

Key benefits

Simple, corrosion-resistant shutoff control

1/4

Quarter-Turn Operation
Opens or closes the line with one fast 90-degree handle movement.

FP

Full-Port Design
Provides a large internal flow path to help minimize pressure loss when fully open.

PVC

Corrosion-Resistant Body
PVC construction does not rust and is suitable for compatible cold-water filtration applications.

3/4

Female NPT Connections
Accepts compatible 3/4″ male NPT nipples or threaded pipe on both ends.

ISO

Simplifies Filter Service
Inlet and outlet valves let you isolate the filter system during cartridge replacement.

RED

Visible Handle Position
The red handle makes the open or closed position easy to identify.

Recommended layout

Use two valves for convenient filter-system isolation

IN

Inlet Valve

Install before the filtration system to stop incoming water during maintenance.

OUT

Outlet Valve

Install after the filtration system to isolate downstream pressure and water flow.

2X

Two-Valve Service Setup

Closing both valves isolates the filtration assembly so it can be depressurized and serviced.

1X

Single-Valve Applications

One valve may be used where only one side requires isolation, depending on the plumbing design.

Installation guidance

  • Confirm that both mating fittings use compatible 3/4″ male NPT threads
  • Wrap PTFE tape clockwise around clean male threads or use approved thread sealant
  • Start each connection by hand to avoid cross-threading
  • Hand-tighten, then add limited wrench tightening as needed
  • Do not use the handle as leverage while tightening the valve body
  • Pressurize slowly and inspect both threaded joints for leaks

Compatibility

Before purchase

Good to know

!
Threaded valve—not a glue socket
Despite the legacy “socket valve” wording, both connections are female NPT and require male threaded fittings.

!
PTFE tape or sealant is required
The FNPT connections do not use an integrated O-ring; the threads must be sealed correctly.

!
Do not over-tighten PVC threads
Excessive torque can crack the valve body or damage the female threads.

!
Cold water only
Use a suitably rated brass, CPVC or other approved valve for hot-water service.

!
Confirm handle clearance
Allow enough space for the handle to rotate fully through its 90-degree operating range.

!
Respect the lowest system rating
A 150 PSI valve does not increase the allowable pressure of filter housings or other downstream components.

This product includes one PVC ball valve only. Threaded nipples, PTFE tape, unions, filter housings, brackets and other plumbing components are not included. Verify pipe size, thread standard, water temperature, pressure and local plumbing requirements before installation.
